This month, we bring our visitors an exclusive interview, where the 26-year-old singer and songwriter talks about her dreams, her work, Brazil and even tells us a few things about Demi! Read the interview below:
DLBR: How old were you when you decided to become a singer? Who inspired you the most?
SHARI: I was 9 when I started singing in school talent shows, but 11 when I started singing and playing guitar…. My dad taught me how to play guitar, he inspired and encouraged me a lot!
DLBR: What instruments do you play?
SHARI: I play guitar and piano. And I used to play the flute! ;)
DLBR: When did you start writing songs?
SHARI: When I was 13, a really close guy friend of mine committed suicide, and I wrote a song about it, cause I didn’t know how else to deal with the pain, it’s a secret song, called “Pulled the Trigger” after the last song on my “I’m Living CD”
DLBR: What is the song that you are most proud of?
SHARI: I am truly proud of “This is The Life” that Miley Cyrus sang… Because it was the first song I ever had another artist sing of my own songs.
DLBR: What is your biggest dream?
SHARI: I want to keep inspiring the world through music! I try to do that everyday! And a Grammy would be nice too! ;)
DLBR: Where is your favorite place in the world?
SHARI: So far its a tie between New Zealand and Brazil (and I’m not just saying that) ;) my ex Boyfriend was an actor in Avatar so I lived in new Zealand for 2 months.
DLBR: We know that you are always talking to your fans on Twitter and posting pictures on instagram, are you addicted to your phone?
SHARI: Ha ha! I would say I am semi-addicted to my phone, I just always want to share with everyone how much I LOVE life and LOVE people. ;) but I do take days off! ;)
DLBR: How was it like to be followed everywhere by south american fans?
SHARI: Ha ha! I am honored that they are so passionate! I think it’s beautiful! Unless someone gets hurt! ;)
DLBR: What was your favorite thing about Brazil?
SHARI: I love the FANS! But also the weather in RIO was gorgeous! I also went to the Cristo! And the view was amazing!
DLBR: What is the best thing about playing concerts in our contry?
SHARI: How excited all the amazing fans were! And how much everyone loved Demi!
DLBR: What is it like being friends with Demi? Can you describe her?
SHARI: Demi is like no other 19 year old I know! She has such a beautiful spirit, and a zest for life. She loves to have fun and play games. (we love to freestyle rap in our spare time).
DLBR: Where do you wanna be 10 years from now?
SHARI: I want to still be making music/traveling the world! Have Grammys, oscars, Emmys. A beautiful home in Brazil! ;)
DLBR: Can you tell us something that we probably don’t know about Demi?
SHARI: Demi also wants to go to school and be a lawyer, she is so smart! She can really do anything!
DLBR: What do you do when you’re not touring?
SHARI: I write songs with famous American artists! I’m in the studio everyday!
DLBR: Are you planning on releasing a new album soon?
SHARI: Definitely by the fall of this year!
DLBR: Is there anything else that you would like to say to Brazilian Lovatics?
SHARI: Thank you for taking me under your wing! I know I’m singing backup, but every Lovatic treats me like I’m family. And they show me so much love and support for my music. You inspire me to keep making heartfelt music
When we asked Shari if Demi said anything about the surprises prepared by Brazilian Lovatics for her concert, she answered “Yes, Demi talks about the special things Brazil did for her almost every day…. We talked about how the Lovatics aren’t like any other fans and how she feels so connected with you guys, because you have stuck with her through everything! And how you always know how to make her feel special! You are truly amazing”
